My downstairs neighbours’ water tank is above the stairway in our block of 3 flats, they have a seperate entrance and do not use this stairway. The tank leaked yesterday causing water damage to the ceiling and carpet in the hallway. We found out that they have no home insurance and are very elderly and claim they can’t afford to fix the tank. My insurance won’t pay up because its not my tank and it’s a communual area.
My upstairs neighbours’ insurance agreed to pay half the repair cost IF downstairs fix the tank.
Any advice?
